Our Story

origin of the name

"Nianqing" means "spiritually responsive" or "sacred" in Tibetan, while "Tangula" means "mountain on the plateau". Therefore, "Nianqing Tangula Mountain" can be comprehensively understood as "the spiritually responsive mountain on the plateau" or "the sacred mountain". This name not only depicts the majestic grandeur of the mountain range but also endows it with a mysterious and noble spiritual connotation.

cultural background

Nianqing Tangula Mountain is one of the sacred mountains in the hearts of the Tibetan people and is regarded as one of the four sacred mountains in Xizang (the other three being Mount Namjagbarwa, Zhari Sacred Mountain, and Mount Kura Kangri). In Tibetan mythology and legend, Nianqing Tangula Mountain and Namco Lake are a loving couple, jointly guarding this land and its people. This cultural symbol gives Nianqing Tangula Mountain a very high status in the hearts of the Tibetan people.
According to legend, the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain God commands the vast Tanglha Mountains in northern Tibet and is hailed as an outstanding protector deity. Initially, he was a native deity of Tibet, but was later tamed by Guru Rinpoche and became a Buddhist protector deity. At the same time, he is also known as one of the "Eighteen Hail Gods" and serves as the guardian deity of treasures. Another legend states that he is the body deity of the Tibetan Emperor Trisong Detsen, the protector deity of the Hongshan Mountain where the Potala Palace is located, and the local protector deity of the four regions of Central Tibet.

Our Story

The mysterious Xizang is desirable. My wife and I were fortunate enough to visit Xizang twice and witness the majesty and mystery of the Potala Palace. We also received a blessing from an elderly wise man, wishing us to be as affectionate as the Tanggula Mountain and Namco Lake, and to be protected by them. We saw the hustle and bustle of Lhasa and the tranquility of the Jokhang Temple at night. Sitting on the bluestone of the Jokhang Temple at night, with the stars hanging overhead, our hearts were incomparably peaceful, as if merging with heaven and earth. The local herdsmen, Qiangba brothers, took us to the craftsman's workshop, where we had the honor to meet the craftsman. Each piece of work is blessed at the Jokhang Temple and imbued with the craftsman's energy. We also met many children from impoverished areas who are still living a relatively difficult life and facing educational backwardness. The craftsman hoped that I would bring their works to the outside world, allowing the energy in the works to protect the wearers. At the same time, I will also sponsor local children in their studies and daily life. We will do our best to pass on this energy and love.
